Cherry Chocolate Wine
Because where you grow matters.... Our Heirloom Wines, made with our estate-grown muscadines, raise a toast to that 40-mile stretch of No Man's Land on the Texas-Louisiana border known as the Free State of Sabine.
John Murrell earned his nickname, the Reverend Devil, by preaching sweet salvation at tent revivals as his Mystic Clan robbed the congregation blind. One of the most prolific, charismatic, and evil outlaws of the early 1800's, he earned a place in Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Injun Joe finds Murrell's treasure, which Tom and Huck claim in the end. Even today, modern treasure hunters are tempted into the search for his legendary Free State hidden hoard.
Equally tempting - this sinfully sweet red wine boldly infused with cherries and rich dark chocolate. Aromas of ripe fruit and cocoa harmoniously blend with the intense black muscadine cranberry and banana flavors with smoky caramel notes.
Pair Reverend Devil with any flavors you like with chocolate - peppers; seasoned pork ribs and spicy boudin; salty foods like chips and bacon; smooth cheeses; and sweet honey-based dishes like teriyaki or BBQ.
