Sweet Lafitte

Because where you grow matters....  Our Heirloom Wines, made with our estate-grown muscadines, raise a toast to that 40-mile stretch of No Man's Land on the Texas-Louisiana border known as the Free State of Sabine.

Rumored to have buried treasure throughout the bayous of the Free State of Sabine, the infamous Lafitte Brothers, Pierre and Jean, were known frequenters of the Neutral Zone in the early 1800s.

This lightly sweet smooth red wine with juicy notes of strawberries and luscious chocolate is our homage to the Gentleman Pirates who often fled to the bayou havens of the Free State of Sabine.  Made from our estate-grown black Noble Muscadine from Free State's Willow Street Vineyard, we uniquely highlight the bright cranberry, apple, and lime flavors.  This version smooths out those tart edges with juicy strawberry and smooth chocolate.  Not too sweet,  this is a medium-bodied red with a medium acidity surging with intense flavors.
